OMPA Meet Overview:
The Championship meet takes place at the Soda Center at Campolindo over the course of three days, August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Friday August 1: The Friday evening swim meet is limited to two events, Individual Medley (IM) and 100 YD free (15‐18s only for 100 YD free). The swim session starts at 5 PM and the heats are “timed finals,” meaning that the swimmers only swim once and are ranked and scored according to their times.
Saturday August 2: Saturday will be Freestyle and Breaststroke (preliminary and finals*) as well as the Freestyle Relays. The preliminary trials start at 9 AM and last for approximately 5 hours. Swimmers who compete in the finals will swim again in the afternoon. Coaches will announce the freestyle relays that day.
Sunday August 3: Sunday will be Backstroke and Fly (preliminary and finals*) as well as the Medley Relays: The preliminary trials start at 9 AM and last for approximately 4 hours. Swimmers who compete in the finals will swim again in the afternoon. Coaches will announce the medley relay teams that day.
*Finals: The top 20 swimmers from the preliminary trials in each event swim again in the afternoon in two consecutive heats – the consolation heat (for the 11th-20th ranked swimmers) followed by the finals heat (1st through 10th). The final session typically starts 1 hour after the completion of the preliminary trials. After the individual event finals conclude, there is a short break to allow swimmers to rest and then the Free Relays (Saturday) and the Medley Relays (Sunday) provide an exciting finish to each day.
OMPA Programs
OMPA meet programs will be available for purchase on Thursday, July 31-August 3, starting at warm-ups and throughout the OMPA weekend. These include our OMPA ads, and the program is the only way to get the meet sheets for OMPA. Meet sheets will NOT be made available digitally. Programs are $25 (cash and Venmo only).
Team Warm Up:
Thursday, July 31st at the Soda Center
Be there at 1:15 PM ready to swim (wear suits, cap, goggles). We will walk in together at 1:25 PM in our team shirts. The warmup will be from 1:35-2:15 PM.
All swimmers are highly encouraged to attend the team warm up on Thursday to experience the pool at the Soda Center. With the sheer scale of the meet and the excitement surrounding it, the OMPA experience can be intimidating and overwhelming even for experienced swimmers. Swimming in the pool before the meet and becoming familiar with the pool deck and facility will calm nerves and help our swimmers feel prepared and excited when they show up at the meet.

Parking:
Parking in the Campolindo parking lot is restricted to those who have a parking pass, as is parking on many of the streets around the pool. There is construction this summer at Campo which will limit parking even further for the meet. We suggest that families use the drop‐off location at Campolindo to unload, then find parking and use the OMPA shuttle to return to the Soda Center.
OMPA will have 1 free yellow shuttle bus that will run continuously from the St. Mary’s Rheem Campus parking lot at 380 Moraga Road (next to Round Table Pizza and 24 Hr. Fitness) to Campolindo High School (in front of tennis courts) on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The shuttle bus will display an “OMPA” sign in its front window. Shuttle stops will be marked with “OMPA Shuttle Stop” signs.
If you do opt for neighborhood parking, please be respectful and do not block driveways, mailboxes, and especially fire lanes. Illegally parked cars will be towed. Please do not litter in the Campolindo neighborhood.
Please do not "create your own parking space" in the Campolindo parking lot outside of the marked parking spots. Some Sleepy Hollow families did this last year and it prevented the shuttle from running until the cars were moved.
There will be one main lot parking pass auctioned off with proceeds going towards Miramonte Aquatics. We will share more details as they are passed along from the OMPA organizers.
OMPA Jobs:
The entire OMPA weekend is a massive undertaking that relies on upwards of 2,500 hours of parent volunteer time. Please show up for your job on time, and if you have arranged for a sub for a subbable job, please be certain that they know where and when to report. Please contact Ashley Garcia if you have any questions about your job assignment. IMPORTANT: OMPA may charge our club up to $1,000 for no shows and still expect us to fill the role. We will pass this fee on to any no shows.
Team Area
Our Team Area is located in the same spot as last year - the outfield of the softball field behind the pools. Please find the map below for reference.

The Team Area will be tented, so there is no need to bring a pop-up tent. Blankets and chairs make for a more comfortable rest area, but keep in mind that the area will be tight. Please ask your swimmers to do their part to keep the team area clean! We will have a food table with healthy snacks and drinks available on Saturday and Sunday. This food is only for our swimmers. Please pack meals for adults and siblings or purchase food at the meet.
There will be a lot of concession stands and general excitement at the Soda Center, but it is important that your swimmer remain in the team area before their swim times so that the junior coaches can help them make their way to the Clerk of the Course.
Bleacher Seating:
Our team bleacher area will be to the far right of the pool if you are referencing this map. We will be at the top end, next to CCC.

OMPA Professional Photos:
There will be a photographer onsite taking professional photos. The expectation is that photos will not be pre-ordered but the photographer will take as many pictures as possible and they will later be available for ordering after/during the meet.
Social Media:
If you are interested in following the meet on social media, you can do so at the following:
@OMPASWIM on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter
@OMPASWIMMING on Facebook
Post OMPA Dinner Sunday August 3 6-9:30 PM:
Register here.
Please join us back at Sleepy Hollow on Sunday evening following OMPA for our celebratory dinner. Inspirational words from the coaches and a wrap-up after the big championship will top off the most exciting weekend of the season.
Swimmers, parents, and other family members are $16/per person. No need to register children 2 and under; they're free.
There is always an abundance of eating, socializing, and celebrating! We will be enjoying burgers (veggie burgers as well), hot dogs, chips and sweet treats! There will be some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks provided, but feel free to BYOB as a supplement!
Please register by July 26th.
OMPA Tips:
- The path to/ from our team area to the pool deck can be dusty and rocky. It is a good idea for swimmers to have a pair of slides or sandals for getting to and from the Clerk of the Course.
- Pack extra goggles and caps in case of an ill-timed break
- No alcohol is allowed at the Soda Center
- Try to keep the younger kids rested in between swims. Bring headphones, quiet games- whatever works for your swimmer.
- If you’re a new family and unsure what the OMPA fuss is all about, ask a family who has been there before. There is a lot of collective wisdom on our team. Phone a friend!
